MEL System Design for Rehabilitation Centers for Trafficked Children

ECPAT International runs a well-regarded rehabilitation programme for sexually exploited children in India and Bangladesh. XSIGHTS was asked to establish an M&E system for their programme. XSIGHTS interviewed the children who benefited from the programme and proposed a child- centric M&E framework, using projective and participatory techniques. The performance indicators selected included academic achievement, quality of social interactions, and psychological well-being of the children in the rehabilitation center.

Impact of Divorce on Children

XSIGHTS conducted a large qualitative survey that included 330 in-depth interviews in Turkey. Two hundred interviews were conducted with individuals who had been divorced in the last five years, while 130 interviews were conducted with employees of the legal system, including judges, lawyers, case attendants and social service experts. The project aimed to identify improvements in the judicial system and legal framework that would be in the best interest of children whose parents are divorced.

Knowledge Attitudes and Perception of Saving and Investing Among Children

XSIGHTS conducted a KAP Survey for an international bank about children’s attitudes towards saving and investing. The results of the survey were used to design new financial products which would motivate children to start saving at an early age.

General Behavior Research on Mothers’ Behaviors and Child’s Socio-Emotional Development

In this study the effects of emotion socialization behaviors on the emotional and social development of preschool children were investigated for Istanbul University in Turkey. The study included an examination of the relationships between the behaviors of mothers and their attachment style, as well as the emotional competence, social competence and temperament of preschool children. Face-to-face interviews were conducted with mothers in Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir and Kayseri provinces. The results were published as an academic article.
