In 2022, XSIGHTS conducted a research study titled “Perceptions of Sports and Sports Disciplines Across Turkey’s Seven Regions” on behalf of Paribu. This study was carried out to support the launch of the Team Paribu initiative, which was developed to support national athletes on their journey to the Olympics.
Team Paribu is a long-term project by Paribu that aims to support athletes representing Turkey in various sports disciplines. Bringing together athletes from different branches, Team Paribu not only aims to highlight athletic achievements but also seeks to include and nurture new talents within the team. In line with this vision, Paribu commissioned this research to gain an in-depth understanding of society’s perceptions of sports and athletes.
The results of the study were shared at the official Team Paribu launch event, which was attended by a wide audience, including members of the press and sports community. Many national athletes from Team Paribu participated in the event, including Eda Erdem, the captain of the Turkish National Women’s Volleyball Team, who also serves as the captain of Team Paribu.
This research provided valuable insights into the importance of sports culture, regional differences, and areas with potential for public engagement and policy development. The data-driven framework not only informed Team Paribu’s communication and engagement strategies but also contributed to nationwide discussions on sports awareness, inclusivity, and the support of athletic careers.
