Women and Employment Tracker 2017 to Present

Since 2017, XSIGHTS has been carrying out a survey on behalf of TED University and TurkishWIN, to track women’s employment in Turkey, a country where only one third of women work. Each year, results of the research are widely distributed among key decision makers. This survey is carried out pro bono as a part of XSIGHTS’ Corporate Social Responsibility effort and its commitment to WEP and CSR. For the full presentation, please click on the link. Curriculum Survey Among Young Girls and Their Fathers in Syria

XSIGHTS organized 12 focus group discussions in Syria with young girls and their fathers about the content of an educational programme. The focus group discussions were used to test whether or not the programme’s topics were acceptable in Syrian culture and if the topics met expectations for educational content targeted towards girls.

Governance and Ethics among Businesswomen Survey for World Business Angels’ Forum (WBAF)

XSIGHTS conducted a survey in 12 counties on Governance and Ethics Among Businesswomen. Women in different stages of their careers answered questions about ethical concerns they have encountered in their careers. Barriers to Leadership for Women in Construction

Construction is a male-dominated sector and more often than not women do not get appointed to leadership positions. This qualitative survey explored how women were systematically excluded from leadership roles and how they were able to overcome the barriers. This research was awarded one of the Best Social Research by Turkish Researchers Associations.

The Perception of Paternity Leave

Paternity leave plays a key role in ensuring fathers connect with their newborn babies. XSIGHTS was able to measure public perceptions of paternity leave and the level of information about it among the general public. The results of this survey were used to raise awareness about fathers’ right to paternity leave.

Impact of Divorce on Women Survey

XSIGHTS was commissioned by the Ministry of Family and Social Services to conduct a large qualitative survey about the impact of the divorce process on women and how women could be better supported through the legal proceedings. The findings of this survey were used to develop policy actions.

Household Chores Surveys

TurkishWIN commissioned XSIGHTS to determine how household chores are divided among couples across different generations and how gender roles influence the amount of time spent working at home. The research was instrumental in depicting how gender roles are changing towards a more balanced division of labor in the house.

Pro-women Branding

XSIGHTS has been studying the minds of consumers, specifically how being a ‘woman-friendly brand’ impacts purchasing decisions among women consumers.

Satisfaction with Health Services Among Syrians under Temporary Protection (SuTPs)

XSIGHTS conducted 12,800 surveys in two waves over the course of 24 months to assess the impact of additional health services on SuTPs. In addition to the quantitative surveys, XSIGHTS conducted 12 focus group discussions with SuTPs in Gaziantep and Istanbul to assess the impact of EU funded health facilities and services on SuTPs. Ethnic Minority Children’s Attitudes Towards Environment

It is estimated that one million Turkish people live in London. Approximately sixty per cent of this population lives in the North of London. The London Borough of Haringey sought to understand the attitudes of Turks living in its catchment area on issues like the environment and recycling. The research conducted by XSIGHTS revealed that the target population for the campaign should be children, as they seem to be the most important influencers on their parents.

Perceptions of Christians in Turkey

This survey, conducted by XSIGHTS, explored public perceptions of the Christian minority in Turkey. 1,500 respondents from 26 cities were interviewed in this nationally representative survey, to understand levels of knowledge about Christianity, attitudes towards Christians and their actual interactions with Christians. The survey results were used to improve cultural interactions between Christian Communities and the rest of the population. For the report please click the link.

Immigration Journey with Personal Stories

This study conducted by XSIGHTS was used to understand the lives of Syrians who lived outside the camps in Turkey. The results indicated that 20% of Syrians who lived outside the camps had no family members left in Syria and 32% had family members in countries other than Turkey. Social Vulnerability and Social Analysis Scale Project

TED University in Turkey commissioned XSIGHTS to conduct this survey with the 3,092 people living in the Marmara Earthquake region. Cluster sampling was applied to this survey to ensure representative data and the level of poverty was measured among disadvantaged communities.
